Cookie Policy

Effective date: 1 July 2026 · Last updated: 4 July 2026

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide analytics about how visitors use a site. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and tracking pixels — this policy covers all of them.

2. How we use cookies

We use cookies for two purposes only:

  • Essential cookies — required for the Octavion Platform (app.octavion.ae) to authenticate your session and protect against security threats. These cannot be disabled while using the Platform.
  • Analytics cookies — Microsoft Clarity on the marketing website (octavion.ae) collects anonymised usage data to help us understand how visitors interact with the site. Clarity records page views, scroll depth, clicks, and session replays (with form field inputs masked). It does not collect personally identifiable information.

3. What we do NOT use

  • No advertising or remarketing cookies.
  • No cross-site tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, etc.).
  • No sale, rental, or sharing of cookie data with advertisers.
  • No fingerprinting or canvas-based tracking.
  • No third-party cookies on the Platform (app.octavion.ae) — only our own essential session cookies.

4. Cookie inventory

The following table lists every cookie and similar technology used across our domains:

5. Managing cookies

5.1 Browser settings

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Each browser provides different controls — consult your browser's help documentation for instructions:

  • Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari — Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge — Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies

5.2 Impact of blocking cookies

  • Blocking analytics cookies — you can visit the Website normally. No features are affected. Clarity simply will not collect data from your sessions.
  • Blocking essential cookies — you will not be able to sign in to the Platform (app.octavion.ae). The login session requires these cookies to function.

5.3 Microsoft Clarity opt-out

You can opt out of Microsoft Clarity tracking specifically by enabling your browser's “Do Not Track” setting, using an ad blocker that filters Clarity's script (clarity.ms), or by blocking third-party cookies from the microsoft.com domain.

6. Local storage and session storage

The Platform uses browser local storage and session storage for:

  • UI preferences — sidebar collapsed/expanded state, theme preference, language selection, and dashboard widget layout.
  • Form drafts — unsaved form data is temporarily stored so it survives accidental page refreshes.

These are not cookies — they are not sent to our servers and are not used for tracking. You can clear them through your browser's developer tools or by clearing site data.

7. Updates to this policy

If we add new cookies or change how existing ones work, we will update this policy and the cookie table above. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. For material changes (such as introducing a new category of cookie), we will provide notice on the Website.
